Saving the original family room of this early 1900’s era  home and adding a full basement was the initial challenge. The client’s wish to maintain the feel of the old house while updating the infrastructure and incorporating green building practices included installing interior plaster throughout, extensive millwork of FSC and reclaimed lumber, reclaimed redwood old growth redwood beams, radiant heating, etc. Snap cut and flamed brownstone walls and details recall an earlier time.
